During 'Nato a Venezia' in Palazzo Loredan, visitors are invited to volunteer in an open study, which aims to link phenotypical diversity (i.e. appearance/attractiveness) with genetic diversity. The genetic diversity will be determined by a query (which n.b. can only be filled in in the library) while the phenotypical diversity is established by measuring facial symmetry. This is the variation, from one half to the other, within the facial configuration, using the mid-sagittal plane as a base line. There is increasing evidence that links facial symmetry both to the genetic diversity of the parents as to increased attractiveness.
Are you curious about your facial symmetry? Give the camera beneath access to your computer and take the test yourself.
Align your face with the line in the centre, look straight in the camera and click "take picture".
